Weddings at Wood Acres Farm

Wood Acres Farm is one of our favorite venues to host weddings.

If I could describe it in 5 words, it would have to be, “This place is just right.” From the rustic country atmosphere and horse drawn carriage to the lush green landscape, Wood Acres Farm is a hidden gem in Litchfield county. The banquet barn features wide board floors, tasteful country decor, a bridal suite, and wrap around porch. On the front lawn, many couples opt to have lawn games like jumbo jenga, cornhole, and other fun favorites for guests to enjoy during cocktail hour.

Your ceremony can take place at one of 4 locations. Options include the gazebo, the love shack, and now their newest addition, a half moon deck over-looking the landscape. And, if the weather doesn’t cooperate, there is ample room inside the barn to have your ceremony. When we set up for ceremonies at Wood Acres, we will set up on the porch. This allows us to get the audio to the ceremony area (not far away) and also doubles as a cocktail hour system. In addition to that, the system will be left outdoors to play music throughout the duration of the reception giving guests the option to hit the dance floor or take a break in an Adirondack chair by the bar.

Following your ceremony, guests will be able to enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride around the property during cocktail hour. Once cocktail hour has ended, guests will be seated indoors to await your arrival. Introductions start on the porch just outside the bar. This offers a clear path to the dance floor right into your first dance following introductions. Once introductions are over, dinner service begins and your sweetheart table is located to the left of the DJ for optimal viewing with quick access to restrooms and the private bridal cottage should you need to freshen up.

Speaking of dinner, one of the benefits to having your nuptials at Wood Acres Farm is your choice of caterer. There are some great handpicked caterers that frequent the farm and offer different styles of cuisine for just about every taste. So, if you’re looking for typical wedding fare like surf and turf, or if you want to dive into comfort food, there is a caterer for you.

Your dance floor was made for dancing. Because of the wide barn board floors, they have a little bit more give than a standard concrete poured and marble tile floor. This offers a lower impact to your legs while dancing so you can dance longer without getting tired. We love that! It’s the perfect size for your wedding up to 140 guests.
