Wedding Planning: Following up with your prospective wedding vendors
The game has changed since the pandemic. Since the mid ninetees, the way we communicate with our couples and clients has evolved. What used to be a rather long and drawn-out process for booking events has not been replaced with a few clicks and a booking. But what happens when you reach out to a vendor? Following up is crucial to getting everything that y0u want for your wedding day.
In our case, your information is sent right to our office in an email. Thanks for considering us to host your special event! Once we get that email, we double check your date for availability and contrast that against the availability of our staff to fulfill the needs of your event. Each year on average, we host between 65-80 weddings per year. And with that volume of weddings, we also have corporate events, private events, school functions, and nightlife events that we host on a weekly basis. We also provide audio services for the government and host Jukebox bingo at senior centers during the day time.
For the hundreds of events we host every year, that only accounts for a fraction of the inquiries we get on a near daily basis for service. Add a 2 year pandemic, many dates shuffled around, and new inquiries coming in competing for prime dates April through November, and you’ve got a trashbag of organized chaos to navigate.
Why am I telling you the inner workings of our business? Because you are our client and we want to make sure we give you every opportunity to book the entertainment that you are looking for. When you send us your information, be sure to check your spam box for our email. If we don’t hear back from you, we will more than likely send you a text to verify that you received our invitation to set an appointment.
Now I know asking you for an appointment seems like a huge commitment right out of the gate but our services are booked on a first come first serve basis. If you’re a couple that is planning their wedding for the first Saturday night in October, you can expect that you are competing for that single date with 10-20 other couples. This is why it is so urgent for you to follow up with your wedding vendors.
There’s nothing better than being able to handpick your creative team for your special day that is such a great fit that your wedding is going to be the celebration of the century. Settling for anything less than you want is not an option. You’re making a huge investment in your celebration and you deserve nothing but the best.
Don’t let those hours of researching wedding vendors go to waste. Follow up with each one and if you find the perfect fit for you, as a courtesy, please reach out to the rest of the vendors you touched base with to let them know you’ve moved on so that they can provide the best service they possibly can to other happy couples just like you.
Happy Planning!
